Biosphere Reserve

La Selle / Jaragua-Bahoruco-Enquirillo Biosphere Reserve (Dominican Republic, Haiti)

This transboundary biosphere reserve includes the reserves of La Selle in Haiti and Jaragua-Bahoruco-Enriquillo in the Dominican Republic. These two reserves represent ecological corridors divided by a political and administrative frontier. Bringing them together is hoped to allow for improved environmental management.

Archipel de la Guadeloupe Biosphere Reserve, National Park and Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin Nature Reserve

Guadeloupe National Park, which encompasses a tropical forest and includes La Soufrière volcano; along with the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin Nature Reserve, a marine protected area adjacent to the park; together comprise the Archipel de la Guadeloupe Biosphere Reserve.

Península de Guanahacabibes National Park and Biosphere Reserve (Cuba)

Guanahacabibes Peninsula is located in Pinar del Río Province, in the municipality of Sandino, the westernmost point on the island of Cuba. The peninsula is sparsely populated. The waters surrounding the peninsula are important spiny lobster and red snapper fishing grounds. It is both a national park and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
